I have hooded eye lids which I don't particularly like. I'm 22 years old. I don't want to change too much my eye shape (at most have my eyes be a little more upturned than downturned) as long as I don't have the hooded lids!
Answer: Improving Hooded Eyelids -- Botox/Xeomin/Dysport/Jeuveau for Brow Lift, Fillers, RF (Thermage, Legacy, Viva), Blepharoplasty For significant improvement, hooded eyelids require surgery if there is enough skin. For nonsurgical treatments: Radiofrequency (Thermage or Venus Legacy/Viva), injectable fillers, and a Botox brow lift can help contour the eyebrows and lift the eyelid skin. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Upper blepharoplasty: things you should know Thank you for your question and photos. An upper blepharoplasty can address your hooding concerns and create a more awake and refreshed appearance. This is done by removing excess skin and modifying the fat in this area to achieve the desired aesthetic. The results of this minimally invasive procedure are known to last for 10 years or more. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your eyelid concerns and suggest the best treatment for you.

Answer: Hooded Eyelids Hi and thanks for the question! A conservative upper lid blepharoplasty would be able to help in the area. Sometimes for mild cases such as this, you can try Botox to the crow's feet areas first since that may elevate the brows just enough to help with that small amount of hooding. Neither of these (done correctly) would change your eye shape. Best of luck!

Answer: Hooded Lids Good afternoon! There are surgical options to treat the upper eyelids. This is called a blepharoplasty which removes skin and sometimes muscle with fat to improve the appearance of the eyelid. The results can be excellent, though sometimes hooding can be caused by a low brow position. If you haven't considered a neuromodulator like Botox, that may be a nice starting point. These are placed near the "crow's feet" and help elevate the brow. Many patients will see improvement in hooding with injections roughly every 3 months. It's relatively safe, painless, and quick to do. Seek consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to see which option may be best given your young age. Good luck.
