I have hereditary fat bags underneath my eyes and have had these since I was a child. My mum and grandmother have them and even my baby daughter has them! Looking at my mum and grandmother, these eye bags do get worse with age as skin around the eyes becomes looser. However, at what age would be best to have a lower blepharoplaty to remove the fat deposits, considering factors such as ageing which may counter the result over time? I am 32 and do not currently have any loose skin around my eyes.
Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles - Fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella); Lasers (Fraxel/CO2); Renuvion; Microneedling/PRP; Peels At home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella), lasers (Moxi/Halo/Fraxel/CO2), Renuvion (J-Plasma), microneedling/PRP, stem cells and microneedling RF like Fractora PiXel8 or Morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat might be the best solution long-term. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Compare your options for eye bag removal Thank you for providing your question and photo. You may benefit from a nonsurgical eyelid lift that uses dermal filler injections to reduce the appearance of eye bags. The results from fillers can last for approximately 9-15 months, so ongoing treatment would be required to maintain the desired aesthetic. If you’re interested in a more long-term solution, you may be a candidate for a lower blepharoplasty procedure. This eyelid surgery can significantly reduce the appearance of bags for results that can last up to 10 years or longer. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your concerns and your cosmetic goals.

Answer: Eyelid Concern Eyelid fat bags are best corrected by surgery but there are some nonsurgical options that work sometimes. A midface lift is also a great option for many people to correct malar bags & usually leads to a more dramatic reduction of lower eyelid fat bags compared to just a blepharoplasty. The recovery & downtime is very minimal. There are usually no drains, most people can go out the same day. Patients can shower the next day after having a procedure done. Most patients don't take pain medicine. There are never any guarantees of course with any procedure whether it is surgical or nonsurgical in nature. Surgery is not for everyone. In today's day and age, there are many nonsurgical options to consider although surgery usually gets the most improvement specifically of the malar or lower eye fat bags. I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of mini facelifts and eyelid lifts but also offers all the nonsurgical options such as injectables and laser treatments. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. If it does, please take a moment to up vote this answer on the “respond” button on the top right.

Answer: Lower Blepharoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Some people develop bags under their eyes in their 30s while others develop them in their 50s or even 60s. The timing to undergo this procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient. If you are in your 30s and see the visible need to remove the bags under your eyes, I highly recommend you go ahead with the surgery sooner than later. Younger patients recover faster and easier than elderly patients. Thank you and good luck.

Answer: What age for under eye surgery? Depends on the severity/necessity, Dr. Morris has treated infants before, but a resurfacing laser can really help to tighten the skin. This is a great option. You can also have a tiny bit of Botox placed to help relax the skin. Since age is the biggest concern. Skin resurfacing will have a longer lasting result. With age, your eyebags after receiving skin resurfacing it is also up to you to keep up with your skincare, making sure your taking care of your under eyes after the fact. The skin underneath the eyes is very delicate and any abrasiveness will cause more wrinkles etc. So its understandable why you would want to wait, but this is why we have consults with the doctor before anything because she can really put your mind at ease and answer any additional questions, & really explain what she can do!
