Eyelid fat bags are best corrected by surgery but there are some nonsurgical options that work sometimes.

A midface lift is also a great option for many people to correct malar bags & usually leads to a more dramatic reduction of lower eyelid fat bags compared to just a blepharoplasty. Hello and thank you for your question. Some people develop bags under their eyes in their 30s while others develop them in their 50s or even 60s. The timing to undergo this procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient. If you are in your 30s and see the visible need to remove the bags under your eyes, I highly recommend you go ahead with the surgery sooner than later. Depends on the severity/necessity, Dr. Morris has treated infants before, but a resurfacing laser can really help to tighten the skin. This is a great option. You can also have a tiny bit of Botox placed to help relax the skin. Since age is the biggest concern. Skin resurfacing will have a longer lasting result. With age, your eyebags after receiving skin resurfacing it is also up to you to keep up with your skincare, making sure your taking care of your under eyes after the fact. The skin underneath the eyes is very delicate and any abrasiveness will cause more wrinkles etc. So its understandable why you would want to wait, but this is why we have consults with the doctor before anything because she can really put your mind at ease and answer any additional questions, & really explain what she can do!

Newer techniques to treat this include fat grafting To the lower eyelid. Fat grafting is permanent. Fillers are temporary and may cause scarring and loosen the skin even more once the filler resolves.

Although it is impossible to know exactly from your picture, you appear too have relative proptosis, or prominent eyeballs. This and the statement you do not have loose skin means that surgery is not indicated. If you do have proptosis, you definitely do not want to to remove any fat. In fact, you do not want to do so even with normal eye prominence. What you need is volume enhancement with either an implant, filler or fat grafting.
