I currently have 330cc textured, teardrop implants. After news regarding textured implants, I decided to change them to smooth round implants with the same Dr. I'm 5'8 & 122lbs. My proportions are 36 hips - 24 waist & 33.5 chest. I would like to have naturally looking perky breasts - a little higher & fuller on top & the sides while staying proportionate (no larger than 36 inches for the chest). I am stuck between 560cc & 605cc hp. Vektra not available.
Answer: 560cc or 605cc high profile? Your breasts are currently very natural and attractive in appearance. My personal opinion would be to not go any larger. Larger implants may appear disproportionate to your body and risk future complications from the size and weight of the implants. If you feel you must go larger, i would favor the smaller implants for the reasons above.

Answer: Implants I would suggest not going with those large sizes for your frame is small and you appear to have little breast tissue. At your current size, you do have some bottoming out from the weight of the implant. going larger will make that more risky. It would be better to stay around your same size and have your inferior pocket tightened. You might need an internal bra of mesh for better support. This will give more upper breast fullness.

Answer: Revision I have to ask a question. Why would you risk losing a great result for a small change in size. My recommendation is to do nothing and enjoy the great result. Your doctor gave you originally. Good luck.

Answer: Implant selection Different plastic surgeons, have different ways of helping patients. Choose implant, type size and shape. If your surgeon is asking you to make the decision, then you’re the one who has to make the decision. It’s not really appropriate for us to tell you which implant to use out of context without having had a thorough consultation. My personal approach is to work carefully with before, and after pictures, allowing me to have a clear understanding of what my patient is hoping to achieve. I make the final decision of the implant size during surgery using temporary sizers. I typically bring an ample supply of pictures, reminding me the exact outcome that the patient is hoping to achieve. And then use temporary sizers to determine what size implant will achieve those results. I typically have, a full selection of implants available during surgery to choose the ideal implant. Going from 330 cc to 600 is a fairly major jump in implant size. Using implants that are larger than the natural breast diameter increases complication rates, undesirable side effects, and increases revision rates. There are many different variables that need to be taken into consideration, when choosing implants, including implant profile. Each plastic surgeon has their own way of deciding the right implant, including guiding patients through the selection process. I suggest you continue working with your provider, and if you have questions regarding implant choice, and make those decisions with the help and guidance of your provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
