Post op day 4 and I’m feeling like it’s day 2. Yesterday I was better, I was eating and walking around a bit (in my house). Today, I woke up feeling extra tired, nauseous and super lightheaded. I haven’t been taking pain medication because the first 2 days they made me feel ill (and I threw up). So it’s 2 days I don’t take them. I’m only taking antibiotics and Tylenol. Why am I feeling this way???? :(
Answer: Lightheadedness and nausea after day 4, is this a concern? Worsening of symptoms after an initial period of improvement is always concerning enough to at least call your surgeon's office for advice that is more specific to you than we can provide online. I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined and make sure that everything is healing fine. Best of luck!

Answer: Light headed and nausea lal,What you are experiencing is rare, but many times secondary to the anesthesia and narcotic pain meds. By the 4th day, you usually start to feel better. You should consult your Plastic Surgeon and also continue eating and drinking as much as tolerated. The nausea and lightheadedness should pass soon.Good luck with your continued recovery.Dr T

Answer: Pain and nausea that resurfaced Thank you for your question. Your symptoms are a little concerning just because you were feeling so great for the first two days. There are a couple of potentials - the main one is that you may have simply overdone it and are just feeling lousy. The nausea could be related to any other medications that you are taking - like antibiotics, etc. Your best (and safest) bet is to call your surgeon and let him or her know what you are experiencing. Just to be safe. Best of luck!

Answer: Recovery after BA Thanks for the great question and congratulations on your surgery! What I've found is that by day 2-3 patients start to feel a little better so they increase their activities, then by day 4 when you wake up, you're extra sore from the day before. Each week there will be peaks and valleys, but as long as your feeling better each week, you're heading in the right direction!Best,Dr. Sieber
