Is the hump on nose after 8 months post op permanent or swelling? (photos)

Question

I had a septorhinoplasty 8 months ago to fix a deviation. I also asked to remove the bump on my bridge and refine the tip. All went well and I loved the results the first 3-4 months, at this time the bridge was straight. Since then I've had a small bump on the bridge, it's raised slightly and then there's a small slope before the tip. I'm upset with it as I wanted to no longer have a bump on my nose. I think I have medium-thick skin.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, the fullness in the dorsum may not improve with time. Usually tip swelling decreases with time. Additionally, it appears that your nasal tip is over projected. All of these areas could be addressed during a revision. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Hello and thank you for your question. On review of your images, it appears as though you have a slight supratip break and a very slight dorsal hump at the site of the bony cartilaginous junction. It can take up to 12 months in some cases for postoperative swelling to settle after surgery. I would recommend watchful waiting at this point to see how your nose appears once the healing period is complete.

During the surgery supra tip and radix area swollen much and especially these two area tends to appear at a higher level than it actually exists. in midterm and long term, the edema of these two areas decreases and the level of the middle third may become more noticeable.
