I had rhinoplasty 6 months ago and my nose looks worse than before, it’s too overprojected and uneven nostrils, my right one you can see the bone shape where it was cut through my skin? Please what are my options? I am being told to be patient but it looks worse every day!
Answer: Rhinoplasty Healing Thanks for your question, Rhinoplasty does take around 12 months to heal completely from a rhinoplasty. The way the skin drains the swelling just takes a long time. The middle vault looks ok on pictures. Keep in mind that sometimes swelling is asymmetric and thats ok. Hang in there! Hope this helps and God Bless!Dr. Robb Jr.

Answer: Rhinoplasty af 6 months It’s a little hard to make a full assessment without having a full clinical examination and your preoperatice photos (in standard form) for evaluation. However, despite the fact that rhinoplasties take about a year to settle there is some evidence of structural problems though not a midvaukt collapse. If your surgeon is unable to help you should seek secondary advice from a revision specialist.

Answer: Options for Improving Nose I agree with your early evaluation of your rhinoplasty results. AlAlthough it has been just 6 months since your procedure i suggest you consult with a revision rhinoplasty specialist with your operative report and pre-operative pictures in hand. I encourage you to consider a revision to achieve a softer more feminine result.

Answer: Is this Mid Vault Collapse after Rhinoplasty Dear Atasel2, While it does not appear that you have mid vault collapse I can certainly see your current concerns with your results and these will need addressing down the road with revision rhinoplasty. It is preferred to not perform revision surgery for one year following your original procedure. However you can start the process of secondary opinions at any time. I would suggest that you seek some secondary consultations and request a copy of your operative report from your surgeon and your original pre-operative photographs. I would also suggest that when you have revision surgery that you discuss chin augmentation with the surgeon. You have a weak chin and this can be corrected with an implant and will provide you with a balanced profile and overall improved facial aesthetics. Have imaging performed during consultation so that you have an agreed upon result. Review the surgeons before and afters to ensure natural looking noses and expertise in this field. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
