3 months post op, are my implants too large? (Photo)

Question

I'm 3 months post augmentation with 350cc high profile implants. I'm worried about the projection, from the bottom, I look like I have 2 mountains sitting on my chest. Is there a chance they will look more natural in the coming months?

Thanks for your question! It is unlikely they will look more natural. At 3 months, you have a pretty good idea of a final result. What may happen is your body will create new skin and things will continue to soften, but with a higher profile, you'll always have more projection. Good luck!

Although you may still have a little more change or "settling" in the coming months, they probably won't change too much.  If you feel like they're too big, then it's not hard to change them for smaller implants.  It does require surgery, but it may be better to do that than to live with a result that you are not happy with.  Talk to your surgeon about your concerns.  Best of luck!

I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the healing process.You will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.

Thak you for your question.  Breast implants can take 6 months to fully settle.  At 3 months, however,  most patients are close to their final result.  You may see a little settling over time but probably nothing significant.  I think you have a very nice result, with appropriate implant position and dimensions, but you do look a bit augmented.  If you're feeling too large and projected then your only option will be to swap for a smaller, lower profile implant.  It's a fairly easy surgery, but still requires a trip the the OR. I looks like your plastic surgeon did a nice job with your augmentation. Given the size and high profile implant choice, I would anticipate your result. Of course, if you would like a more subtle look, you can downsize and change to a moderate profile implant. Not much will change at this point as 3 months is near maximally settled and healed. HelloBased on your photographs, you have excellent breast shape and symmetry. The choice of implant volume and projection is a complex one that depends on several factors, including breast measurement and your desired volume. The choice should be a collaborative one between you and your plastic surgeon.. Whether the implants are too large is very subjective and depends only on your personal aesthetic. Having said that, I often advise my patients to wait at least six months after surgery until the implants have settled and all the swelling has resolved.

Thank you for your question. My advice is to give things some time. Early on the implants can feel tight but with time things will settle and the tissue will stretch and you may grow more accustomed to them. If you get to 6-12 months and are still concerned, then chat with your plastic surgeon about downsizing. It is usually a pretty straightforward procedure and you might benefit from downsizing the projection if you are worried about how far they stick out (from high to moderate profile for example).

Things will still change in the next 3 months so be patient for now. When you are 6 months out then you can reassess the size. From the photos you appear to have a very nice result, so give it some time before considering changing the implant size or profile.
