8 months after my neck lift I have developed skin hanging on either side of the chin and incision (Photo)

Thank you for your pictures and questions. It appears that redraping of the skin may be required to completely correct this issue and if so, I would recommend waiting until a year postop before intervention. You also need to be examined for the submandibular glands in this area as that may be providing some of the fullness there.

Different conditions can create your current deformity; scar adhesions, muscle band, fat irregularities. We usually recommend 12 months period after surgery for result to mature and settle. If deformity is still present, revision/exploration using same incision is recommended. Every new procedure creates new scar and even after best revision some irregularities, imperfections may return. Good luck.

Did your doctor also pull from the sides and have incisions behind the ears? This can be helped somewhat by approaching from both sides and redraping the skin. However, you also may have enlarged submandibular glands which are more difficult to deal with. Some of your issues can be treated by changing the vector pull in the neck as seen with a deep plane facelift but I’m not sure you’re ready for that.

Based upon the photos appears the redraping of sub mental area was not completed. In my opinion only complete re open neck and sub mental incision can effectively improve results. Best to virtual consult with....
