When PRP is used to promote hair growth, mostpatients require repeated treatment 2-3 times per year. Because results varyfrom patient to patient, the treatments may need to be continued intermittentlyto maintain any improvement. This will depend on, final goals, amount of hairloss, and patient’s response to therapy. Most patients will see results within3-6 months.
Thanks for your question, Gerry - In short, the duration of the benefits derived from PRP treatments depends on the nature of the cause of the hair loss, whether it's andro-genetic hair loss in men or female pattern hair loss in women, the benefit is probably temporary since these are genetic conditions which should revert back to the baseline after enough time has passed for the pathophysiologic processes operant in the patient to overcome the hair in the pattern. However, I have had female patients that have had a 2 procedure series, with no re-currence of thinning 3+ years later. Then of course I see patients that have substantial benefit which wanes over-time, they return for "touch up" prp procedures as needed. Dr. Bernardino Arocha, M.D., FISHRS
The answer to this question is not simple. It depends upon the PRP injection protocol. If one uses multiple injections at the beginning of the treatment, it is possible for results to last six to 12 months. However if one only employs a single treatment, longevity may be as little as three months. Some practitioners believe that adding a cell extends the duration of Effectiveness. This has not been proven. A second factor, is age of the patient. Younger patients, with less hair loss and Less dormancy of hair follicles, does not need to repeat the procedure as often. A third factor, is concomitant treatments. If one adds topical finasteride or oral finasteride as well as topical progesterone for women, it is common that the longevity is increased. In summary there is no single answer to your question, seek someone who has experience with PRP.PRPHAIRMD.Com
prp is great with other treatments like microneedling and lasers. it doesnt help with volume. please see an expert to determine what is best. my patients do this treatment to their face every 3-4 months with their extensive laser treatments or monthly with their facials and microneedling. Best, Dr. Emer.
Unfortunately to date there is no standardization as to how frequently PRP treatments should be done.Several clinical studies are underway which may help to answer this question. It seems that most proponents of PRP recommend follow up treatments every few weeks to months.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, no studies have been done on longevity of PRP treatment of the hair, face, acne scars or sexual wellbeing( O Shot/P Shot). As you can see multiple applications of the PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma). From my experience, PRP results in general last from 15-18 months that is why monumentally important to maintain it with boost treatment every 12 months. But, AGAIN, we have different application for PRP , different response, different longevity, and different maintenance.
Thank you for your question! At this time, it's unknown how long the effects last. We recommend maintenance with propecia in post menopausal women and men, topical proprietary blend Minoxidil with special peptides and absorbing agents and, in men, androgen blockers. We also are following our patients closely with booster treatments at either 3,6 or 12 months. 6 months seems most useful at this time.
There are a lot of factors involved into how long PRP will last. Each person is different and the regimen is also different from provider to provider.
this would really depend on how the PRP is done, the kid that is used and out it ministered by the clinic that you visit. I can last anywhere from three months to 18 months.
Hi Gerry, I am going to assume you are asking about PRP rejuvenation of the face. So, PRP can be injected in the face as a part of the Vampire Facelift or as a series of PRP injections alone. The Vampire Facelift can last as long as 15 months. Here is the reality, once you start facial rejuvenation combatting the effects of aging, it is a continual process. Just like exercising to maintain physical fitness. A combination of in-office procedures and home care can help you maintain your results. This is not something that can be done once and last forever.
