I had a Mommy Makeover (TT with Muscle repair, BA) on April 22. 3.5 weeks ago. I was supposed to start my period 7 days ago. Is it normal for my period to be late post op? Also my breasts have been extra painful the last few days so I'm wondering if this is a sign that something trying to happen. I just wonder if it is normal for disruption in menstral cycle, as I am usually very regular.

Answer: Altered menstrual cycle. Disruption of your menstrual cycle can occur. This is typical due to the surgical stress altering the hormone levels. The levels will return to normal and so will your cycle.

Answer: Late menstrual cycle after Mommy Makeover. Stress of any kind can interfere with a normal menstrual cycle. Certainly the stress of this type of surgery could be the cause for a late period. If part of your Mommy Makeover was any type of breast surgery for discomfort you are experiencing may be related to the procedure. Breast surgery was not part of your Mommy Makeover the feelings you are experiencing may be the prelude to your period. You should return to your normal menstrual routine sometime in the very near future. If you continue to have irregular periods after you have recovered from his surgery he should consult your gynecologist.
