Temporary loss of smell is a common concern for patients after Rhinoplasty surgery. Your nose will be swollen inside and swelling along with scabs will cause you to lose your sense of smell temporarily. This is not permanent. Your doctor may prescribe you a nasal spray that will clear the airways and keep your breathing comfortable. Sense of smell should come back 3 to 6 weeks after the surgery. Best of luck to you.
