Is this loose skin or banding underneath the chin? (Photos)

Without touching/examining your skin in person, it is difficult to determine whether or not your under chin loosesness is due to loose skin or fat. However, if you have already had 2 kybella treatments, I'm assuming that would have treated any extra fat. And, it appears from the way that the skin is draping, that your under chin issues are due to loose/extra skin. The least invasive procedure that I would recommend that you start with is a radiofrequency treatment. This treatment utilizes a machine to increase the heat to the area, stimulating your body's own collagen. For example, in our office we use Endymed Pro.

Very likely these bands are from platysma muscle. Fat reduction with Kybela have thinned subcutaneous (superficial) fat in your neck; hidden muscle bands are now exposed. Botox injection works very well to diminish activity and visibility of these bands. Neck lift may be an option but you may wait for some time if Botox creates satisfactory result. Good luck.

Based on your picture - you look young enough that I do NOT think what you see is related to "loose skin". (It's always advisable to have an in person evaluation of the neck to accurately assess this.)
Treating Platysmal muscle banding with botox (a.k.a. - Neferitit injection) is possible if you notice the banding while clenching. It looks like vertical neck bands. This does not work on horizontal neck lines!
Could there be an element of "loose skin?" Yes - but nothing that I see that requires any intervention. The skin in the neck has lines and laxity for a reason. It's because we can move them normally in many directions.

hard to tell without actually examining you- but if it shows when you grimace, its likely banding from the action of the platysma muscle. the likely reason why this is now showing after kybella, is that the platysma bands were probably hidden under the fat, and now that the fat is gone, they show more. further, there is an element of skin laxity, which can happen anytime fat is removed-- we often rely on the skin to "snap back" after the fat is removed, but sometimes this doesn't happen and youre left with some loose skin. this may improve over time.
with the botox, it can help with the banding, which may improve this look, but i dont anticipate it will correct it 100%. there is a risk of affecting the underlying structures if the botox isn't injected correctly and with good technique, so go to someone who has experience and is comfortable with it.

Thank you for your question. I feel like the most inexpensive non-invasive procedure to start with would be botox for the platysma bands. You would need to keep up with it every 3 months. Without being able to evaluate in person I would estimate around 30 units of botox. If you aren't have any improvement with botox then you should look into skin tightening procedures like thermage. Hello and thank you for your questions and your photos. Looking at your photos, it appears they are platysmal bands. The bands start at the base of the neck and run the front left and right sides of the neck. Overtime, the skin becomes more lax, the muscles weaken and the bands become more visible. Botox in each band will help the muscle relax and become less noticeable. You would need an in person consult to know the exact number of units per band. Typically, it can be 15-30 per band, depending on the severity. You must go to a board certified, experienced provider for your consultation to avoid unnecessary side affects. Botox needs to be repeated every 3-4 months for most. If done correctly, this should not interfere with swallowing. Hope this helps, good luck to you!
