I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial contouring expert to go over your desired results in order to determine how much filler is needed. Usually, we start with one syringe split between upper and lower. These fillers, (Restylane, Volbella, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. Using half of a syringe to treat both your top and bottom lip will not yield very much difference.  Most patients begin with one syringe and add more later if more volume is desired.  Discuss your goals with your injector and bring along photos of the volume you desire.  Remember that the lips will likely swell, so it is best to wait 2 weeks after injection before analyzing results.

Usually, a full syringe is necessary to contour the lips. Balance and harmony of both the upper and lower lips is important. A complete exam is necessary to determine where the contour requires improvement.  Best to neither under or over fill the lips. The lips should appear natural after the procedure.
