I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial contouring expert to go over your desired results in order to determine how much filler is needed. Usually, we start with one syringe split between upper and lower. These fillers, (Restylane, Volbella, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. Thanks so much for your question and photo. 1/2 syringe will not make too much of a difference. Remember that there is only 1cc of product in a syringe. Starting with 1 syringe will likely provide you with more of a noticeable result. If in 2 weeks (follow up time) you feel you'd like more volume then you can always add more at that time. Usually, a full syringe is necessary to contour the lips. Balance and harmony of both the upper and lower lips is important. A complete exam is necessary to determine where the contour requires improvement.  Best to neither under or over fill the lips. The lips should appear natural after the procedure.
