I have phlegm and had a tummy tuck Last Friday, what can I take?

What can I take after a tummy tuck surgery .. what is usually what is recommended by doctor to take or do?? Or if anyone has gone thru this and can share their experience of how it was taken care of.. thank you all in advance.. I don't have a cough with an itchy throat but just a phlegm that's stuck in my lungs and it won't come out... when I breath I can hear it..i just started a few hours ago..

Thank you for the question. It takes at least 3-6 months to see the final results of tummy tuck. Your repair is probably ok. As time goes by and with the healing process, muscle repair does not feel as tight anymore. Please have your plastic surgeon evaluate. Best of luck!

Hi, Thank you for your post. Congratulations on your surgery!  It takes 6 months to a year for the swelling to go down after a tummy tuck. Pain is normally controlled by pain medicine. If you have any questions or concerns follow up with your plastic surgeon.

With an open wound like this we can let it heal on it's own, known as a 'conservative scar'. This is my preferred approach, however, during the recovery period you would need to follow up with your Doctor to ensure the healing isn't interrupted.
