Hi, I'm 31 and have not had any previous under eye treatments. I have rosacea and it creates a line of demarcation, along with some hollowing and veins. Is PRP viable? What other options would be suitable? Thanks!
Answer: Undereye PRP Information Hi, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Undereye PRP is a fantastic option for patients looking to brighten and rejuvenate the under-eye area. It works by boosting circulation and stimulating collagen production, which can help diminish dark circles, smooth fine lines, and improve overall skin texture. While it doesn’t add volume in the same way filler does, PRP can naturally plump the skin and reduce the appearance of mild hollowness. Based on your photos, you look like a great candidate for this treatment. It’s important to note that undereye PRP often requires a series of treatments to achieve optimal results. Because it’s derived from your own blood, it’s a safe and minimally invasive option with little downtime—perfect for those looking to achieve a refreshed, well-rested look. As always, the best next step is a consultation with a skilled provider who can assess your unique needs and goals and create a personalized treatment plan tailored just for you.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: PRP and PRF for under eyes Hello, thank you for your question! PRP and PRF utilized to the under-eyes helps with collagen growth, pigmentation, and helps with the integrity of the skin. The skin under the eyes is typically thinner and the fibrin factor will help strengthen the under eye. PRF has a higher concentration of blood platelets, inclusion of stem cells, white blood cells, and fibrin within the PRF solution. PRF is also a slower release of healing factors over a longer time frame and has faster healing potential. You should notice brightening to the under-eyes and better quality of skin. The result is a regeneration of natural collagen and an overall rejuvenation of the surrounding tissue. I think you would benefit from PRF injections to the under-eyes and would have best results after 1-3 sessions. I would recommend reaching out to a certified injector for an in person consultation!

Answer: Rejuvenating the Under-Eye Area PRP could be an excellent option for you! In fact, we commonly recommend the Vampire facial—a combination of microneedling and topical PRP—for treating this particular combination of discoloration, uneven textures, and lost volume. This technique works by jumpstarting the body’s natural healing process and boosting collagen growth to restore lost volume, smooth textures, and reduce shadows for more consistent color. Because PRP is a pure concentration of platelets drawn from your own blood, this treatment is completely natural and poses no risk of rejection by the body. This makes the Vampire facial a particularly appealing option for many of our patients who are new to facial treatments or who are seeking a particularly safe and gentle therapy for treating the under-eye area. We hope this helps you get started!
