Weight loss after a TT and lipo. How much weight would I lose if I were to get slightly over 2200cc out?

Dear katelynstephen,Exactly like you said Lipo and TT is more about changing the appearance than the scale. Usually patients don't even see a change immediately post-op because of all of the swelling. After 2-3 weeks they could start to drop between 3-5 pounds depending on how much is really fat and how much is water from the lipo and how much  skin-fat is removed from the abdomen. If the amount of excess on the abdomen is large then you should expect  a few more pounds. Please remember this procedures are not performed to loose weight, they are performed  to improve your shape.

Pure fat of 2200cc would weigh close to 5 pounds. However a liposuction aspirate is usually about half fluid so you might need a 5000cc aspirate to remove 2200cc of pure fat.Be aware that after lipo and Tummy Tuck you will gain weight due to the dramatic fluid shifts that occur after surgery.It is important to understand that liposuction is not done for weight loss.

The amount of fat you describe, 2200 cc's, would weigh almost five pounds. The tissue removed in a tummy tuck weighs deceptively little. A typical tummy tuck results in removal of only about two to five pounds, though the results look much more dramatic than losing a couple of pounds.Postoperatively I tell my patients not to get on a scale, wear tight jeans, or get out a tape measure for several weeks until the swelling settles down. When patients do get on a scale and come in complaining they weigh seven pounds more, I reassure them I didn't inject any fat into them! That's all swelling.
