HiThank you for your question. I often give tramadol as a pain medication after surgery. Your surgeon will discuss the postoperative pain management with you before the surgery. Its best to follow your doctor´s advice. Good luckDr Marco Carmona MD
Tramadol is fine. You should have very little pain after a facelift however. Tylenol is usually sufficient.
Tramadol is a perfectly good pain reliever if used at an appropriate dose. Most minilift, facelift or S-lift patients complain of pressure or tightness more than pain, so hopefully you will only need the tramadol for a day or two.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa
Yes, as long as it is used in the appropriate dosage by your operative surgeon. In our practice, we do not perform an S-lift since it is a form of mini lift procedure which gives mini results. We perform a comprehensive, high-SMAS lower face and neck lift procedure. This accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, tightening the SMAS, and removing any fatty deposits in the neck along with a platysma-plasty. Most patients take a few medium strength pain relievers such as Vicodin after their surgical procedure with us. For sure tramadiol is safe.Obviously it goes without saying you do not have an allergy to the medicine.
Tramadol tends to be my pain medication of choice for after a facelift. If a patient states that this has not worked for them in the past or if they have any allergies, other options may be explored.
Dear Origina9438, Tramadol is a very effective medication for post operative pain associated with facelift or S-lift surgery. Many patients complain of feeling some tightness and not necessarily of pain and will find that tylenol is also very effective. Your surgeon will discuss pain management with you at your preoperative appointment. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.

Hello, and thanks for your question. It is typically recommended that you wait at least 6 weeks or more after having a facelift to have other treatments such as a TCA chemical peel. This allows your face and skin to properly heal and recover from the trauma of the surgery. Since you would be...
Rebound swelling can happen post surgery and should heal itself but it is important to see your surgeon for a check in to be sure everything is healing properly.
