What can I do about my nasolabial folds, asymmetrical face, and angry face look? (photos)

These nasolabials fold are really bothering me. They make me look older and seem to make my "resting [RS bleep] face" look worse. I always get mistaken for being angry or sad when I'm perfectly happy or just even neutral. My face is also very uneven causing me to always look like I'm smirking. When I Photoshop those folds out on pictures, I always look 10x better and younger. I read a little on fillers, but am afraid they will make my smile look too Joker like.

A combination approach will make the most improvement. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. Good question and its very common question and concern. The two halves of our face are never symmetrical. Having said that fillers are commonly used to fix the uneven look and can easily be done in your case but a consultation is needed to look at static and dynamic face. Good luck.

Thanks for the photos. Deep nasolabial lines, or laugh lines, are one of the most common treatment areas for dermal fillers. Results should look very natural, so you don't need to worry about looking "Joker-like" after your treatment. Just make sure you choose a skilled injector who knows what they're doing. Thank you for your question and posting your photos. It is possible to get a very natural appearing restoration of volume to your face that will make you look younger without over-correcting. The left side of your face shows greater deflation in the cheeks than the right side. Almost every patient I see has some degree of asymmetry that can be improved with fillers. In a situation such as yours, I would recommend Sculptra Aesthetic as it gives a natural long lasting correction. Sculptra is comprised of fine particles of poly-l-lactic acid which when injected beneath the skin will stimulate new collagen production. Most patients require 4-6 vials spread over 2 to 3 sets of injections. Results are gradual and typically last well beyond 2 years.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
