No, lipo should not cause stretch marks. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Since stretch marks develop when the skin is stretched with weight gain or pregnancy, Liposuction, or decreasing the volume of fat under the skin, does not cause these. The best results in Liposuction are actually those who do not show stretch marks in the skin. Liposuction requires the skin to shrink back over the muscle layer as the swelling comes out. If there are stretch marks there, the skin will likely be soft of sag in those areas afterward. You would be considered a good candidate for Liposuction if you do not currently have stretch marks. Be careful to evaluate your options, especialy if you are looking for a large volume of fat removal. See lots of pictures of patients like yourself and ask the surgeon how much volume they will plan to remove for you to see a real difference. Best Wishes.
Liposuction does not cause stretch marks. Stretch mark are tears in the skin that occur when the skin is expanded too rapidly. This commonly happens from weight gain or pregnancy. With liposuction the skin is less stretched which is the opposite of why stretch marks occur.
Thank you for your question. Liposuction will not produce stretch marks but can associate with contour irregularities some times. Stretch marks develop when rapid stretching of skin like in pregnancy, weight gain or growth spurt etc.
Stretch marks occur when there is a rapid increase in volume such as with growth, weight gain,or a pregnancy. I have even seen this with breast augmentation followed by weight gain. Liposuction involves removing volume, and there are many concerns about deflating the tissue which do not include stretch marks. Skin laxity, rippling, and irregular contour are all risks of liposuction. The more aggressive the surgery the higher the risk. The less elasticity in your skin presents with, the greater the risk. These are the problems that you need to consider prior to having aggressive liposuction.
Stretch marks develop when then skin is stretched beyond the dermis' ability to hold tension (as in pregnancy, severe weight loss, and quick muscle building with anabolic steroids). Liposuction does not stretch dermis, so it does NOT cause stretch marks in my experience.

Liposuction around your waist and upper hips will help make your shape more hourglass. If you can handle staying off your butt for a month, then transferring the fat to the buttocks will take shaping it a step further. Don't confuse this with a full Brazilian butt lift, which is meant to in...
It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. Hyperpigmented scars can be improved with a combination of...
Hard lumps after liposuction are typically areas of fibrosis (scarring) that result from the trauma to the tissue. I tell all of my patients to "expect" this after liposuction for several months.I have my patients use a rolling pin (yes a rolling pin) to roll over the areas with the fibrosis ...
