I have a weak chin, incompetent lips, protruded lip. I have to strain my lips together to keep them closed. Feel like my nose may have been a contributor due to it being crooked and deviated septum. What's wrong, how do I fix it and what will the cost for surgery be?
Answer: What to do to fix my long face syndrome? Hello jaredkessler,Thank for your question.Unfortunately, without an in-person exam, it would be hard to speak specifically about your concerns. You would need to shave your beard for any one of us to see how "weak" your chin is. It certainly seems like a rhinoplasty and septoplasty would need to be performed to straighten and adjust your nose. There are ways to adjust the length of your upper lip to allow easier closure.Cost for all this would be possibly over $10,000 with surgeon's fee, anesthesia fee, and facility fee.A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon in your area is recommended.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Answer: Chin Surgery While you did not provide a side view profile and your beard creates some camouflage, your lip incompetence suggests that moving the chin bone forward may be beneficial. You are indeed correct that your nose is asymmetric and deviates to one side of your face. A septorhinoplasty can help straighten your nose and may also help you breathe better through it as well.

Answer: What to do to fix my long face syndrome? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using facial implants (cheek, chin) for over 30 years. It would be better to have pictures of your face, without the beard, non smiling from the front and side for the evaluation. From these photos the cheeks are flat but the chin and mandibular angles should be evaluated with a profile view. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective. Based upon the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face.Cheek augmentation with cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line.Hope this helps.
