I’ve been dealing with raccoon eyes my entire life & the hollow under my eyes are due to genetics. I’ve tried every over the counter cream & eye patches you can think of & nothing works. How can I get rid of this permanently??? What treatments should I have done
Answer: RE: get rid of raccoon eyes Hello, This is Dr. Hong from Seoul, Korea. I’ve noticed that you have some hollowness under your eyes. While achieving a perfectly even skin tone in this area can be challenging, significant improvement can be made through under-eye fat repositioning. This minimally invasive procedure involves relocating your fat pads to their correct position, which helps to smooth out the under-eye area and reduce hollowness. As the hollows diminish, the color difference will become less noticeable. Although dermal fillers can also be effective, they are not a permanent solution. In some cases, they may cause puffiness or darkening in the under-eye area over time. I hope this information helps guide you in making the best decision for your treatment. Warm regards,Dr. Hong

Answer: Permanent Solutions for Genetic Dark Circles: Expert Recommendations Dealing with persistent dark circles or "raccoon eyes" can be frustrating, especially when they are genetically influenced. While topical treatments can offer limited results, there are more effective options available for permanent or long-lasting improvement. Here are some treatments to consider: Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid fillers can help fill the hollows under the eyes, reducing the appearance of dark circles caused by volume loss. Laser Therapy: Laser treatments, such as fractional lasers or intense pulsed light (IPL), can improve skin texture and pigmentation, reducing dark circles. Chemical Peels: Light chemical peels can help improve pigmentation and skin texture around the eyes. Microneedling: This treatment can stimulate collagen production, improving skin thickness and reducing the appearance of dark circles. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: PRP injections can promote healing and rejuvenation of the skin, potentially improving dark circles. Surgical Options: In some cases, lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can address significant under-eye hollows or excess skin. Lifestyle Modifications: Ensure adequate sleep, manage stress, and maintain a healthy diet rich in vitamins C and K, which can support skin health. Consultation with a Dermatologist or Cosmetic Surgeon: A specialist can assess your specific condition and recommend the most appropriate treatments based on your skin type and concerns. It's important to consult with a qualified dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon who can evaluate your condition and recommend a personalized treatment plan.
