Hi! I have 2 forhead depressions, which I think are genetic. They cause my forehead to look concave from certain angles (especially under direct light and from a 3/4 profile angle). What are the best treatment options? I was looking into filler, but it just seems so risky. So, what alternatives are there? I’ve included a photo of an actress that has a very similar forehead shape to my own.
Answer: Treatment Options for a Concave Forehead: Exploring Alternatives to Fillers When addressing concerns about a concave forehead, there are several treatment options to consider, each with its own benefits and considerations. Here are some potential approaches: Dermal Fillers: While you mentioned concerns about fillers, they can be an effective and non-invasive option for addressing forehead depressions. When performed by an experienced professional, fillers can smooth out the contour of the forehead, providing a more even appearance. The key is to choose a skilled practitioner who can assess your specific needs and use the appropriate type and amount of filler. Fat Grafting: This is a more permanent solution compared to fillers. It involves harvesting fat from another part of your body and injecting it into the forehead to fill in depressions. This option may appeal to those looking for a longer-lasting result, although it involves a surgical procedure with associated recovery time. Forehead Implants: For those seeking a permanent solution, custom forehead implants can be considered. These implants are designed to fit the contours of your forehead and provide a more uniform appearance. This surgical option typically requires more recovery time but offers lasting results. Non-Surgical Options: If you're hesitant about invasive procedures, consider non-surgical methods such as makeup contouring techniques or certain hairstyles that can help minimize the appearance of forehead depressions. Consultation with a Specialist: It is important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics. They can provide a thorough assessment and recommend the most suitable treatment option based on your individual anatomy and aesthetic goals. Ultimately, each option has its own risks and benefits, and a personalized consultation will help determine the best approach for achieving your desired outcome.

Answer: For Forehead Indentations 8 Concavity: Consider A Low Viscosity, Cohesive, Malleable HA Filler I have personally had very gratifying results treating this kind of issue using a low viscosity, cohesive, malleable HA filler injected superficially. With proper technique this has proven to be a safe and effective means for addressing the indentations and concavity. And, the results are typically immediate. That being said, this treatment should not be left to the hands of an inexperienced, novice injector accustomed to using simple Restylane or plain Juvederm to treat ordinary smile lines. So, you would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert. Hope this helps and best of luck.
