I am a thin young women but I’ve always had weak jawline. I know I have a bit of set back chin but I don’t want to get any surgery to fix that right now. Neck lipo seems like a less invasive option with minimal down time. Would it be worth it to have lipo done? I know I won’t get the most perfect jawline. But I’m hoping it could help so my double chin isn’t so obvious. Or could it make it look worse?

Answer: Chin and neck, Liposuction It’s important to first understand what the primary underlying ideology or problem is.Facial aesthetics, especially in young people are determined by bone structure.Issues related to the lower 1/3 of the face are therefore related to the shape and size of the mandible. You don’t have abnormal distribution. You have an under developed mandible. That said Liposuction, fairly impressive improvements if done correctly on individuals were good candidates.Ideal candidates for Liposuction or Young with tight skin and thick layers of subcutaneous fat. It’s difficult to tell how thick your Subcutaneous fat layer is in your neck, but based on your picture, you look like a fairly ideal candidate for this procedure. The second variable is how the procedure is performed.Liposuction skills very quite dramatically among plastic surgeons. Not all port certified plastic surgeons are good at this procedure. As a general statement, I would say delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. Likewise, the number of plastic surgeons approach. Liposuction is in reality quite small.Poor Liposuction can give him horizons that are very difficult to correct.Poorly done, Liposuction can leave people disfigured. If you’re interested in having this procedure, and the next step is to find the right plastic surgeon,This is also more difficult than most people realize. To find the right plastic surgeon, I recommend patience, put a significant effort into this having multiple in person consultations.I cannot emphasize the importance of provider selection by having multiple in person consultations. Get a set of proper facial pictures taken your profile picture is fairly good, but also get frontal views.Bring these pictures with you to use as reference during the consultation.During each in person consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics to your own. highly experienced surgeons should’ve access 100 or preferably thousands of before and after pictures to choose from. Before and after pictures is a major red flag that The provider you consulting with may not have sufficient experience.Without seeing the quality collection of results, your confirmation of what your results are likely to look like will be decreased.Sufficiently experienced provider should have more before and after pictures than you have time to look at during the consultation. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations you schedule the more likely you are to find the better provider for your NeedsThe biggest mistake I see patients make is having only one consultation and then scheduling surgery. Most patients did not have a lot of experience having plastic surgery consultations. The more consultations you scheduled the better you’ll be at the process, including your ability to vet providers. It is ultimately your responsibility to find the right plastic surgeon, and finding the right plastic surgeon is by far the most important variable.Chin and neck Liposuction may be an excellent option for you.The difference between being happy with the outcome for the rest of your life and regretting the decision is provider selection.Being certified in plastic surgery with years of experience and a handful of positive reviews does not mean that a plastic surgeon has mastered any one single plastic surgery procedure. When end out slow down and schedule more consultations.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
