I’ve went to a couple consults. I know I’m a candidate. My question is how many incisions are standard. I’ve had two doctors say 3. One behind each ear and one under the chin. Then two others say one under the chin direct. I’m not overweight and according to every surgeon I’ve seen I have a small amount of fat but enough where lipo is an option as I’m heavily opposed to Kybella. What’s the difference in 3 incision points to only one incision under the chin.

Answer: Incisions for chin and neck, Liposuction Personally, I make three incisions. The incisions under the earlobe need to be low enough that they lineup perfectly with the jawline. This leaves the incisions exposed, but the face heals so well. The incision points are really not visible overtime. There is a substantial difference in skill for this procedure. I suggest you focus much more on before and after pictures, the number of incisions. When reviewing results make sure head position is always the same in the before, and after pictures. Extending the neck can dramatically change the contour in this area. Highly experienced surgeons should have more before and after pictures then you have time to review. The more consultations someone schedules, the more likely they are to find the best provider for their needs. Approaching mastery of this procedure is more difficult than most people realize.
