Hello and thank you for your question! Hand rejuvenation is so important, and often overlooked. In our practice, a combination approach targeting skin quality, volume loss, and overall texture is highly effective. 1. DefenAge 10 Luxe Hand & Body CreamWhy It Works: This cream is formulated with Defensins, which stimulate skin's natural repair processes and improve texture, hydration, and brightness. This is the only product on the market that actually creates *new* skin. It’s excellent for addressing crepey skin and promoting a more youthful appearance over time.2. RF MicroneedlingWhy It Works: RF microneedling combines radiofrequency energy with microneedling to stimulate collagen production, tighten skin, and improve texture. It’s ideal for addressing crepiness, fine lines, and thinning skin on the hands.Treatment Plan: Typically, 3-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart provide noticeable improvements. Maintenance sessions can be done annually.3. Soft Dermal FillersSoft fillers can restore lost volume, smooth out visible veins and tendons, and improve skin hydration. Options include:Versa (Hyaluronic Acid-Based Filler):Adds subtle volume to the hands, minimizing the appearance of veins and tendons.Typically lasts 6-9 months in this area.Skinvive by Juvederm:Focuses on improving skin hydration, elasticity, and glow without significant volume. Ideal for enhancing skin quality.RHA Redensity:Provides natural hydration and volume with a smooth, skin-like finish. Great for hands requiring a delicate approach.Treatment Plan: Results are visible immediately, with peak results after 2-4 weeks. Expect touch-ups every 9-12 months for maintenance.Combined Approach:Step 1: Start with DefenAge Hand & Body Cream to improve skin texture and hydration over time.Step 2: Introduce RF microneedling to address crepiness and tighten skin.Step 3: Use soft fillers to restore volume and enhance overall hand rejuvenation. This holistic approach addresses both skin quality and volume loss for a comprehensive rejuvenation plan. A consultation with an experienced injector can determine the best filler option based on specific anatomy and goals.Best of luck! Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Your own fat is the most natural looking product available for hand rejuvenation. Fat transfer can be performed under local anesthesia, and help hide the veins and arteries you see with aging. Plus, the stem cells improve the skin.
Volume restoration with a robust HA volumizing filler has become routine practice in any active cosmetic dermatology practice. The fact that the tendons stand out so prominently suggests significant volume loss and is a very good indication that addressing this will rejuvenate the appearance of the hands. Sclerosing the blood vessels would likely do little for restoring a more youthful appearance to the hands, but will also disable vessels that one day may be critically needed for IV infusions for various medical treatments. Autologous fat transfer, as opposed to the nonsurgical use of robust HA fillers (which is nonsurgical and engenders little to no significant post-treatment downtime), has certain very important drawbacks. For one, it is a relatively expensive, two-step minimally invasive procedure that requires large bore cannulas to withdraw fat from the donor areas (usually buttocks, hips, belly) and then to transfer the fat into the recipient area. Borh areas engender a real period of post-treatment downtime. What's more, injected fat retains the characteristics of the area from which it is taken, meaning that when belly fat develops a midriff bulge, the fat taken from that region is likely to develop it, as well, in the recipient site. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
Renuva can help rejuvenate your hands. This new injectable treatment addresses age related volume loss by gradually replenishing the area with your own fat. This is different than a fat transfer. There is some immediate improvement, and the correction will continue over time adding to your results. See an elite injector or my website to learn more.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. From your photos you appear to be a good candidate for adding fat and/or Thermage®. Adding fat will give more fullness to your hands and help create a more youthful appearance. Thermage® is a non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency to help smoothen and tighten loose or lax skin with no downtime. I often combine these treatments with a combination of laser skin treatments to improve the overall quality of the skin. I would need to examine you to best answer your question and tailor the treatment approach to you. I recommend you speak with a fully-trained certified plastic surgeon familiar with surgical and non-surgical treatment options, as results can be variable depending on who is performing either of these procedures.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. While I would need to examine you to best answer your question, from your photos you appear to be a good candidate for adding fat and/or Thermage®. Adding fat will give more fullness to this area. Thermage® is a non-invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) to help smoothen, tighten and contour the skin with no downtime. This can be done directly on the back of the hands and you could even come in during your lunch break and return to work after! I will also often combine these treatments with a combination of laser skin treatments to improve the overall quality of the skin. I recommend you speak with a board-certified plastic surgeon because results can be variable depending on who is performing either of these procedures.
Adding fat to fill the valleys of the hand will camouflage your veins and rejuvenate the look of your hands. Fat will also improve the quality of your skin and is a great procedure for hand rejuvenation. Good luck!
The loss of volume in the hands can be addressed by injecting a a dermal filler such as voluma or radiesse into the area. The veins will be less visible and the area will look smoother and more youthful.
