I don't like my breats. They look like tubes and the large areola makes me feel terrible when I look at the mirror. After some reasearch, I found that fat transfer greats augumentation will be a choice for me since what I want is natural and perky breasts. I am currently 34A and want to be 34B after surgery. Is fat transfer an option for me? Also, Can I have areola reduction at the same time?
Answer: Br I appreciate your question I perform a natural breast augmentation with fat. This can be removed from any unwanted areas including the breast itself as part of my lipo-lift procedure. I perform the fat grafting in multiple planes including under the muscle to give the best, most natural enhancement. Fat grafting is a great solution for someone who wants to bring their breast size up a cup or so and use natural tissue vs an implant. However, it can also be combined with an implant or used as a secondary procedure to fill in areas that are flat or thin. It should not affect nipple sensation, mammograms, cancer risk or breast feeding. It can be a little lump or hard at first but tends to soften over time. If you gain or lose weight, the transferred fat can do the same. About 60-70% of the grafted fat survives. At 6 months you will have a good idea of your results. Some women have a second or third procedure which continues to increase your volume safely. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Answer: Will a fat transfer give me more round breasts? Fat can be transferred to the breasts, but there still is not a consensus amongst plastic surgeons on whether or not it is a good long term option. There is ongoing research into this topic and while there don't seem to be short term problems, there is no long term data on safety and efficacy. Here are a few points to consider:1. You must have enough donor fat in another area to harvest. 2. Fat viability and procedure success is variable. 3. Fat grafting often only increases the breast size one half to one cup size maximum. 4. The procedure may require repeating to get adequate volume and shape and you may get no increase if you have poor "take" of the transferred fat 5. Fat grafting will increase volume, but won't change the shape of your breasts. 6. Increased breast calcifications, oil cysts, and fat necrosis are potential complications. An areola reduction is easily performed at the same time as any other procedure on your breasts.
