I moved to Milan over a year ago and here they charge for Botox by the AREA instead of Units. For my crows feet when I lived in Los Angeles, I think I got about 13 units on my left side and about 5 units on my right side. How would you describe a Unit of Botox in the Metric System? So far no doctor has gotten it right in Milan.

Your injector in Italy may be using a different technique but if you tell them how many units you had before, they can use the same amount.

Answer: Keep looking! A unit is still a unit. Botox is only sold by the unit from the distributor. Try a different clinic, or request for a specific unit dosage. It may take a wile for you to find your perfect injector. Keep looking!

Answer: Botox unit conversion First, the best advice is to call your practitioner in LA and get the record of how much and where the botox went. That much of a difference between the 2 sides for the crows feet is unusual. With the information from your doctor's office, your Italian doctor should be able to accommodate. In terms of conversion internationally, there is none. A Botox Unit is actually a little bit nebulous as it is not measurement like a milligram, inch, or mL, but rather a regulated amount by the Allergan company. It should be identical in California to Italy, as long as you are using the same product. Good luck!

Paying for Botox per area vs paying per unit may have financial implications but it shouldn't have any effect on results. If you don't like your results I would seek out another provider! Ask a few of your friends that get Botox in Milan who there provider is and if they like them.... Even if the providers aren't as good there, I bet the red sauce on fresh pasta is amazing.
