It's been 4 weeks since I had my breast augmentation and lift. Week 3 I started to notice I wasn't healing at the incision site. Now it's starting to feel like a hole and is getting a bit bigger then when I first noticed it. It has drainage everyday and has become a little sensitive. I been doing wound care. Keeping it clean and dry and putting neosporin with a gauze 2-3 times a day. Anything I should be worried about? Is this normal?
Answer: Wound after breast lift with implants Thanks for your inquiry and picture. Sorry for your struggles. Any wound that can potentially connect directly to an implant pocket is a significant concern. Only your surgeon knows what amount and quality of tissue exists between your wound and the implant. If you use any nicotine, please stop now. The fact it is occurring after three weeks and there is no redness is a good thing, but you need to have it followed closely with your surgeon and best of luck.

Answer: Skin breakdown under breast after breast augmentation and lift. Anything I should be worried about? Thank you for your question and photograph, and I am sorry to hear about your wound healing difficulties. I can see your area of concern, and this should heal well, given enough time. Because of your implants, it is important to perform local wound care to this area, as you want to minimize the risk of infection. Though things look appropriate now, be sure to alert your surgeon of any acute changes in appearance or sensation to your breast, as it is best to catch things early, before they become problems.

Answer: Skin breakdown under breast after breast augmentation and lift. Anything I should be worried about? Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well… I have to say that you are still early on healing process, it is too soon to determine how your results are going to be, per now, they look very nice and beautiful, you can have one bigger than the other, feel swollen and also have bruises and open wounds, it is normal and that can happen for the first 3 to 4 months until your implants have settle in. I recommend you to wait and keep using your post surgical bra, that will help you with the shape and support!!

Answer: Skin breakdown under breast after breast augmentation and lift. Thank you for your question. After reviewing your photos the opening appears small and superficial. This is not an uncommon problem after your procedure. Most often the opening is due to a buried suture that has migrated through the skin. You are doing the right thing by keeping it clean and using an antibiotic ointment. It should heal within a week or 2. Keep your plastic surgeon informed.

Answer: Area of breakdown under breasts Occasionally the area of tension under the breast can break down. Generally it will heal with conservative care. It is important to check with your surgeon to be sure the implant is fine. Suturing this area can be an option but usually we just let it heal.
