Lifting after capsulectomy.....I know I shouldn't lift anything too heavy. My question is how much is too heavy?

I had a capsulectomy and replacement two weeks ago. My doctors told me to take it easy, but I forgot to ask one question.  What limitations I should follow? Thank you.

Only your surgeon can tell you specifically what is the best set of guidelines for your particular case, so I advise you call the office and ask his or her nurse. However, I generally tell my patients not to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds for 2 weeks, and to avoid running, jumping, or any activity where they are bouncing in the pocket, for 4-6 weeks. I always recommend calling your surgeon's office and get specific instructions from the.  Each surgery and surgeon are different.In general I tell my patient after any type of breast surgery to avoid heavy lifting for about 6 weeks and only light exercise for the first 3 weeks after surgery.  Double check everything with your surgeon and good luck on the rest of your recovery.
