Fist off, you have to make sure you are a good candidate for a second BBL. This would need to be determined by at least photos, a consultation and exam being best. Can your liposculpting contours be improved? Is there enough fat remaining to harvest and produce desired results? What areas were treated with liposculpture the first time as compared to remaining excess fat in other areas. If there is enough available fat in areas where liposculpting was not performed the first time, the second BBL could be performed from between 3 and 6 months. If fat must be harvested from the same areas, and assuming there is enough fat, i would recommend waiting from 6 months to one year. The reason to wait longer when performing liposculpture on the same previously treated areas, is to wait for the the firmness and scar tisssues to soften and resolve. You can't see it or feel it, however, areas previously treated with liposculpture can be very firm with scar tissue making the procedure of viable fat harvesting very difficult. Firmness and scar tissue from previous surgery will generally continue to soften and and resolve over one year. The bottom line in performing a second BBL is to be able to aesthetically harvest enough viable fat to produce acceptable results.
I would recommend like 3 to 6 months. This allows the areas of liposuction to soften and become more receptive to secondary treatment.
I perform many, many revisions, but you will usually need at least 3 months before getting this revision. Also, you need to find a much more aggressive surgeon to have a chance of getting what you want. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
A second BBL can be performed if you have available donor sites within about 4-6 months after the prior procedure.
Yes, it is fine to do a second BBL a year after the first.BBL results are variable - because the fat has to survive. If it does not, it will be absorbed, vanished as you observed.Techniques are improving. But no one can guarantee an outcome with this procedure.Be sure your surgery is done by a...
The photos suggest that your breast fold itself is in the right position-Since all looks good when you are standing. The fold that appears when you sit suggests that the upper tummy skin or fat may be putting pressure on a natural fold, making it deeper. That is why your surgeon can't tell you if...
