Hi everyone — looking for insight from those who’ve had lower body lifts, posterior lifts, or thigh lifts, especially after massive weight loss. About 1.5 years ago, I had an extended tummy tuck and breast lift. From the beginning, my surgeon and I planned this as a staged process: • Phase 1: Extended tummy tuck + breast lift ✅ • Phase 2: Posterior lift to address butt/outer thigh laxity • Phase 3: Thigh lift I recently went back to my original surgeon, Andrew Lofman (Novi, MI), and he said he is comfortable doing the posterior lift and thigh lift in the same surgery, without reopening the front incision. However, I also had a consult with Dr. Capella (NJ) because I see him recommended frequently for lower body and thigh lifts. In that consult, he said I would need a full lower body lift with the incision going all the way around the front, even though I’ve already had an extended tummy tuck. That’s where I’m confused. Since I already had my abdomen tightened and excess skin removed: • Is it common to still need a full circumferential lower body lift? • Or is it reasonable to do a posterior lift only (to lift the butt and outer thighs) and then address the thighs separately? • Has anyone here had a posterior lift without reopening the front after a tummy tuck? • Are there downsides to combining posterior + thigh lift vs staging them? I understand every surgeon has a different philosophy — I’m just trying to understand what’s best for me.
