Do plastic surgeons recommend getting the Mentor Promise Enhanced Protection plan?

Like any other warranty, it's all about assessing the risks and having peace of mind.  All MemoryGel® Breast Implants come standard, free of charge with a 10 year warranty (from the date of implant).  Mentor offers free opposite side implant replacement available upon surgeon request.If you purchase the optional upgrade plan for approximately $300 within 45 days of your first implant surgery, Mentor now covers capsular contracture (Baker grade III/IV), double capsule, and late seroma complications and UP to $3500 of financial assistance for operating room, anesthesia costs, and surgical charges not covered by insurance.  The warranty does NOT cover many things: wanting to change size, visible rippling or wrinkling, or implant migration.

This is a very good plan if it doesn't bust the bank. I tell all of my patients to expect that they will need at least one revision at some point in their life. Hopefully you won't need it, but if you do you will be very happy that you have it! Good luck.

The Mentor Enhanced Warranty is absolutely worth it, and is the best warranty available.  It covers you for the next ten years with both financial coverage and bilateral implant replacement of your choice.  Like most insurance coverage, you will probably never need it.  However, if you do have an issue in the next ten years and the manufacturer will pretty much cover it, that is well worth the $300 one time charge.  I hope this helps.

Thanks for your question!I recommend it to my patients simply because it can be a small investment in warding off future problems. For what it provides it's fairly cheap, and worth it if you never have to use it! Realistically extra protection for your investment can't hurt )Best of luck!
