I would like to know how long after the procedure should I wait to start practicing speed rollerskating again. What worries me more is when you fall, which can be sometimes very violent and unexpected (cracks, rocks in the trail, etc). TIA
Answer: Tummy tuck abdominoplasty horizontal tummy tuck lower body lift mommy makeover extended tummy tuck stomach lipo liposuction Thank you for your question regarding how long you have to wait after a tummy tuck with muscle repair do you have to wait to start speed skating. I can imagine the trauma involved with a speed skating fall. Due to the significant trauma and the potential for the incision to open, I suggest you wait at least 6 months. In my opinion, if you fall after a tummy tuck with muscle repair earlier than 6 months, there is potential for the incision to rip and tear. Therefore, be conservative and don’t ruin your results. Wait some time before you start speed skating. Thank you for your question about how long you must wait after a tummy tuck with muscle repair to start speed skating. If you have any more questions regarding a tummy tuck, lower body lift, 360 circumferential lower body lift, belt lipectomy, belt abdominoplasty, or belt dermolipectomy, please get in touch with my office. Since the body lift is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the lower body lift. Do your research. Make sure they have performed at least 100 tummy tuck or circumferential lower body lift surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, tummy tuck or lower body lift surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Activities after a Tummy tuck Thank you for your question. Each Surgeon will have their own protocol on which they would wish their patients to follow post operative in regards to getting back to normal activities. I typically require my patients to wait 4-6 weeks before getting back to working out and heavy lifting. With that being said I would recommend speaking to your Surgeon and following their recommendation. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Healing after major surgery Hello and thank you for your question! You will find this answer will vary between surgeons. However, the textbook answer is that most scars have sufficient strength to return to more strenuous activities around 6 weeks after surgery. In my opinion, with your description of your planned activity, I would ease into very strenuous exercise/activities that have the chance to deal direct blows/pressure to the muscle repair site after the 6 week timepoint, gradually increasing the level of strain so that by 2-3 months post op you can plan on being back to doing those things fully without reservation. Good luck on your journey!

Answer: Tummy tuck recovery Thanks for your inquiry, in general I would say at around three months you could take a fall and not injure result. Please get your surgeon's permission and I would probably still recommend wearing an abdominal binder/support for awhile when skating.
