Labiaplasty for wrinkles? (Photo)

Hi I'm a 22 year female and I have some concerns about my vagina. My vagina seems to get more and more wrinkly and my lips seem to stay half opened all the time. When I sit down it gets all fat and wrinkly and it goes open. I do have sex on a regular basis

Thank you for your questionWhat your photos show excess Labia majora which is the outer pair of labia. This frequently occurs when a person loses a lot of weight but can also occur naturally. This can be reduced by an experienced surgeon. To avoid complications, research well to find one who has been well trained and look up their before and after photos and reviews specifically for LABIA MAJORA. Surgical scars should be hidden in the crease and care taken to preserve symmetry.

It is possible to smooth out wrinkles on your labia majora (the outer lips) with fat transfer. To reduce the prominence of your labia minora (the inner lips), labiaplasty can be performed. The procedure would remove excess tissue so that the labia minora would not project as much. However, please note that there is no guarantee this would keep everything “closed” when you sit down. This may just be a natural part of your anatomy.

HI Gentle,

Your anatomy appears to be normal to me. Your labia Majora ( the hair bearing area) is a bit 
wrinkly, but understand that this is normal. If this area continues to bother you , you can have a reduction in the tissue there. Lasering the area can tighten this tissue, but know that it is a temporary
fix. It is normal for the Labia Majora to open a bit when you sit down.  This issue will not be resolved if you have a shortening of the area.

Your labia majora look deflated and loose. At your young age your best option may be labia majora augmentation, but this can best be determined at the time of an examination. Some women benefit froma labia major reduction, but usually at an older age.

A: Yes. Cosmetic surgery will help in this case! The labia majora is not sagging as 
Dr. Michaele P. Goodman suggests and offers a “double-hockey-stick” procedure (Dr. Goodman supposedly developed this operation and is currently trademarking as “Labia Majora Lift” technique. I tried to identify this surgical intervention in medical literature but could not find any article. Therefore, I kindly request that Dr. Goodman provide a detailed description of the operation so other surgeons and I can familiarize ourselves with this procedure.

Analyzing the attached photos, this patient does not present sagging labia majora at all; however, there is a typical sign of the labia majora adipose sac multiple defects (I did the research on this topic and published my findings in the mainstream medical journal). Additionally, I described and published how to treat this condition surgically. Any tissue resection of the labia majora will not improve its look and will change the labia to a flat structure.

Following Dr. Goodman’s therapeutic advice to perform a “labia majora lift” does not make sense since the presented labia majora here does not meet the clinical diagnostic criteria of “sagging labia.” A labia majora lift requires to repair of 3-anatomical structures to reconstruct (the superficial mons pubis fascia, adipose sac, and Colles’ fascia). I do not know that a “double-hockey-stick” procedure will repair the necessary structures to meet the standard requirement for a labia majora lift.

Labia majora cannot close because it is pushed laterally by the enlarged and folded labia minora. Therefore, this case will improve esthetically without compromising the function of these two structures by reconstructing labia majora adipose sac and labia minora reduction.
