Question

I am 40 years old. I don't know what norwood I am. I have some recession in corners. I'd like to get a beard transplant some day and maybe fill in the corners while at it? How many grafts would be needed to have a more youthful hairline or it wouldn't be worth it? I basically want to have the hairline I had when I was 25

I think your current hairline looks pretty good already for someone who is 40 years old. About the receding corners, the question would be "Does it bother you?" Since the hair transplant is a cosmetic surgery so it depends on your decision to do or not to do it. However, I think there is no need to lower the whole hairline much especially you also want to do the hair transplant because the donor hairs are limited.

It sounds like you’re considering restoring the corners of your hairline to achieve a more youthful look, and that’s definitely possible with a hair transplant. Since you’ve noticed some recession but aren’t sure about your Norwood classification, it’s likely you’re somewhere around a Norwood 2 or 3, where the corners of the hairline start to recede.
To restore the hairline to how it was when you were 25, a hair transplant can be an excellent option. You’d likely need between 1,000 to 1,500 grafts for a moderate hairline restoration, depending on the extent of the recession and the density you desire. If you’re already planning to get a beard transplant, it makes sense to address the corners of your hairline in the same procedure.
