After tummy tuck: Is my belly button supposed to have a half flap of skin like this while the other side looks stitched? (photo)

I recently had a tummy tuck and cannot find anyone with a similar issue. Following surgery I had red stretch marks around my belly button that became bigger and turned into lacerations and a very unsightly wound at my belly button. I used Xeroform to heal the wound and am now left with these red scars which I am using Mederma on. My question is: is my belly button supposed to have a half flap of skin like this while the other side looks stitched? Please help me understand what happened here.
