Should I get an umbilical z-plasty after tummy tuck 2 years ago? (Photo)

I had a tummmy tuck over two years ago and my belly button and main scar did not heal well. My belly buttton keeps closing. I went to PS who specializes in revisions and she told me my options were to remove it or get an umbilocal Z-plasty. She explained what a z-plasty was but I can't find pictures of one anywhere so I'm hesitant to get that done. I just want to make a well infromed decision before I make a decisoon to remove it completely. I would like to see how big the scars are.

Your belly button could be made smaller, but cannot be made deeper since your original belly button closed soon after birth.

You would need to speak to your surgeon to see how the blood flow is preserved to your belly button. If most of the blood flow is coming from the inferior skin, it should not be revised.

Scar tissue has shrink the opening of your belly button, but I suspect the rest is still present. these tiny circles can be difficult to address. Please discuss this with your surgeon who knows where the blood flow is to your belly button.
