Am I a candidate for under eye filler? (Photo)

Question

Hi. I'm 47 caucasian, fair, thin skin. In the top image you can see the trough in the outer corner under my eye. I'd like to put filler here, but most mornings, under my right eye I have a double herniation (second pic). I also have small eyes so any kind of puffiness looks awful. Should I be safe and avoid filling this area?

Are you a candidate? Based on your photographs alone, you would be a good candidate for under eye or tear trough enhancement. However, a skilled physcian can walk you through what options there might be for unereye enhancement, which is not limited to filler (i.e. laser, PRP treatment). 
Should you be safe? Injectables are a medical procedure and for the best outcomes an experienced injector that knows the safest way and give you an outstanding aesthetic result.

Using fillers to treat dark circles under the eyes is a cosmetic treatment that improves the appearance of this area in relation to the cheek and the parpeolar rim. It is important to keep in mind that it is not permanent and that you can consider a lower blepharoplasty to obtain results more in line with expectations The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. An in person evaluation is best, but from the limited photos it appears you may be a candidate for filler.  This would help to smooth the contours under the eye.  Be sure to consider the adjoining cheek area to ensure there is harmony between the two area.  You may also want to consider a lower blepharoplasty for a more permanent result.
