Thank you for your question! For my patients, I recommend they sleep on their sides, alternating each side. Another option would be to prop a few pillows under the lower back and under the thighs, to help keep pressure off of your butt. Lying face down on your stomach adds too much pressure to your tummy tuck incision, and lying flat on your back allows too much pressure to your butt. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing specific post op instructions. Best of luck!
Every PS provides post-op guidelines for TT and BBL recovery. It's always best to ask the PS who performed your BBL/TT for his/her advice as he/she knows what would be best for your recovery. This is a very common combination but recovery is uncomfortable. I allow patients to sleep on their sides. Lying on your stomach or on your back will create pressure on your butt or stomach. Patients can also rest in other positions as long as the other areas do not receive pressure. There are creative ways to manage this. For example, my patient coordinator recommends a plastic inflatable with a hole in it (called a lilo), where instead of your tummy, you place your butt, so you can sleep on your back with pillows propping up your neck and head.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hi. You have to sleep over your back with pillows underneath your knees, not over your belly, always over your back. Your BBL will not suffered any alteration, do not worry.International Member of the American Society of Plastic SurgeonsMember of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I think the compression garment and frequent turning help after tummy tuck and BBL. Thank you and get well soon. Also, don’t forget to walk as much as you can.
After a tummy tuck and liposuction with BBL the only way you can sleep is laying on your back. This means that you need to reduce some of the pressure on your BBL by using pillows underneath your knees and back. Dr. Derby Sang Caputo Dominican Republic
Hello, and thank you for your question. After a tummy tuck and BBL, the patient must sleep on their back, with a cushion under the buttocks, one under the kness and two small pillows under the back so that they're not completely straight.Best of luck
