In the state of Florida, how much fat can be removed for just liposuction in a surgery center?

I have heard that it is 4000 cc's for just lipo and 1000 cc's for combined procedures. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

In Florida: only 1 liter of fat can be removed when you are having surgery, e.g. a tummy tuck, or only 4 liters of fat can be removed when you just have liposuction. Liposuction is based on individual weight, the patient personal goal, type of procedure, and of course safety. Liposuction is not a weight loss tool, but a way to remove excess fat for fine sculpting and contouring. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Florida has some different laws in place for liposuction (4 liters of supernant fat in surgery center as single procedure, 1 liter when done in combination). Yes, this is true. As an outpatient procedure in Florida, patients can only receive up to 4 liters of liposuction / fat removal as a stand-alone procedure or 1 liter of fat removed when in combination with another procedure, like a tummy tuck. The cutoff is somewhat arbitrary since it is a 5 liter cutoff in most places outside of FL, but the intention is to protect our patients from too much body fluid change at one time. It depends if you mean office surgery suite or/vs Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)? The rule 64B8-9.009 is for office surgery suites governed  by the Florida Board of Medicine office surgery guidelines. Than you are correct of alone surgery 4 liters pure fat vs in combination operations (i.e. Full TT with Lipo ) only 1 liter pure fat. Pure fat means supernatant fat not total lipoaspirate...
