Short nose, high radix. Any suggestions? (photos)

Hello,Its difficult to assess based on your photographs whether your nose was relatively short prior to surgery. In my experience, lengthening the nose is performed with cartilage grafting either from the septum or from the ear. It is commonly performed and gives patients excellent and predictable results. It does look like the tip has rotated (tilted up) and deprojected (moved closer to the face). Both of these maneuvers make the nose smaller and shorter and both can be reversed. As far as your radix is concerned, I see what you're talking about and if grafting was performed there, it can be removed. I recommend leaving the radix as is because deepening it will make the nose look shorter. I recommend waiting a full year for recovery and assessment of final results and I also recommend maintaining your relationship with your original surgeon as long as possible. Revision operations are very difficult and usually yield diminished returns when compared to the primary operation.Regards,J. Phillip Garcia, M.D.

Thank you very much for sharing your concerns about your Rhinoplasty with us.After having analyzed all the info and photos provided to us, i recommend to perform a Secondary Rhinoplasty (not a tip revision) this means (basically) treat the nasal bones and the nasal cartilages.Therefore i would perform a narrowing of the nasal base (nose osteotomy) and alar and triangular cartilage shaping.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

A revision to rasp the radix slightly and use cartilage grafts to lengthen the nose a bit would be nice.  Other views are necessary to asses the width and tip of your nose.
