Hi. I've got a recorrection on my left eyelid ptosis. However I’m only 8 days post op. I don’t see any improvements. My eye is still droopy. Should I worry? Stitches are still in it but 3 years ago I saw a difference, now I don’t. Also the first operation the blue bruises were vond after 3-4 days now it's still a bit blue under my eyebrow.

thank you for your question and photo. In my opinion, it is too soon to say. At 8 days, there is still some internal swelling, and as you say the sutures are still in. I would check with your surgeon when you see him or her for suture removal. Best of luck!

The balance of your eyelids may be more complex than meets the eye - and difficult to assess from these photographs alone. The question that comes to my mind - is the right lid too high? And secondly - if the right upper lid were a bit lower, would the left eyelid level be perfectly normal? In the second photograph, the sclera is showing above the cornea on the right side - could the right eyelid be retracted? Your surgeon should be able to assess the possible diagnosis of pseudoptosis of the left, and retraction on the right. After 2 ptosis repairs on the left, I wonder if the problem is the right side and not the left. Try holding the right lid down by 2-3 mm and see what the left eyelid does. If left lid comes up, then there is a possibility of retraction on the right. Might be time for a second opinion from an oculoplastic surgeon. Best wishes.
