PDO threads for nose?

Question

Had 1 full rhinoplasty 7 years ago and 1 columellaplasty 1 year ago, still unhappy with the length of the nose and especially the hanging columella. I was suggested PDO threads to lift the tip of the nose without any risk (the dr said). Is that possible/ recommendable? Thank you.

Hello, difficult to discuss without and exam or photos... If this is the same doctor who did your original rhinoplasty and revision... It may not be a bad idea to seek out the opinion of 2-3 other board certified plastic surgeons. Good Luck.

If you are referring to PDO barbed suture to raise a hanging columella, my experience tells me that permanent aesthetically changes to the columella can not be achieved without a very small, sliver resection of the above with permanent suture material, or it will end up hanging again.  This is not to disagree with your surgeon, because I do not know the details of what he said since I'm hearing it "second hand." I wish you best with your revision rhinoplasty.
