Will taking an oral steroid, Anavar, interfere with Botox or Juvederm injections??

Question

I am currently on my first cycle of a oral steroid called anavar and I am going to get some more Botox and lip fillers(juverderm). I am a little hesitant since I haven't found much information online about this topic. Please someone tell me if they counteract

It would be irresponsible to inject without first knowing why you are on the medication.  Certain inflammatory conditions for which you are taking the steroid might pose a reason to hesitate before receiving cosmetic treatment.  In most cases the steroids would not pose a problem at all.

There should be no change in your outcome from Botox or Juvederm when taking a steroid. You might have less swelling than normal as an added benefit.

There is no problem getting Botox or filler while on this medication. It will have no effect on them and they will not affect the efficacy of the medication

Using an oral steroid such as Anavar should not interfere with the results of the injections with Botox and Steroids.  As an injector, I would want to know why you are taking the steroids.  Check with your injector to see if whatever disorder the steroid is treating will interfere with the results.  Regards, Dr. D.

Thank you for a great question. The short answer is that there is no interaction between your oral steroid and you going to get Botox and fillers done. It might even help the swelling post procedure, as after lips get injected there is expected swelling the next day. It is safe and I would be very comfortable injecting you.
