Thank you for your question about the possibility of visceral fat removal through laser lipo before a Brazilian butt lift and Lipo 360.It's vital to distinguish between subcutaneous and visceral fat. Subcutaneous fat resides between your skin and your muscles, specifically the rectus abdominis muscle. Visceral fat, on the other hand, is located behind the muscle, surrounding your internal organs.Visceral Fat RemovalNo liposuction variant, be it laser lipo or Lipo 360, is capable of removing visceral fat, as liposuction targets only subcutaneous fat. The effective methods for reducing visceral fat are:Diet and Exercise: A balanced diet and regular exercise is the most reliable and safest way to reduce visceral fat.Weight Loss Medications: Certain medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro can aid in decreasing visceral fat. However, medical consultation is essential before starting any such treatment. Please consult a registered dietitian or a medical doctor specializing in weight loss to discuss suitable approaches for reducing visceral fat based on your health condition and goals.I hope this clarifies any misconceptions regarding liposuction procedures and their impact on visceral fat. Best wishes on your journey towards achieving your desired results.Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
Liposuction will not have any impact on visceral fat. However, it's hard to tell from your photo if visceral fat is a major problem for you. You may simply benefit from a tummy tuck, but I would need more photos from different angles to be sure.
Alicia, Thank you for sharing your photo. Visceral fat is lost by weight loss. Weight loss is achieved only through diet and exercise. Unfortunately, Laser Lipo only targets subcutaneous fat. Wishing you the best of health.
Dear aliciahunt10,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Liposuction can't help with visceral fat. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Visceral, fat, also known as intestinal, fat or gut fat can only be gotten rid of by means of healthy dietary habits as well as exercise. In patients who cannot lose weight on their own, bariatric surgery is of great help. Liposuction of any kind is only performed on the layer of fat that’s immediately underneath the skin. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
Visceral fat cannot be removed surgically. It can only be reduced through weight loss.It makes no sense to have a separate liposuction procedure before having a BBL which includes liposuction.Laser treatments add virtually nothing to Liposuction treatment and I suggest you focus all your efforts on finding the most talented provider and follow their recommendation. If visceral fat is an issue then weight loss yes the only effective treatment.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hello and thanks for your questions. Unfortunately there is no surgery option to remove the visceral fat tissue. The liposuction removes the fat tissue between muscle and the skin and it has nothing to do with the visceral fat. The only way to remove the visceral fat tissue is loosing it with the diet.
Hi and welcome to our forum!Your single lateral view photo of your upper abdomen does not provide enough information to make a determination as to the cause of your abdominal fullness, and, as there are no photos of your buttocks, I cannot comment upon efficacy of a BBL..Abdominal fullness may be the result of your anterior abdominal wall musculature being stretched out, as the result of previous pregnancy or after dramatic weight loss (treated with abdominoplasty), the presence of excess superficial fatty tissue (treated with liposuction), or excessive visceral fat, the intra-abdominal fat that surrounds your internal organs (treated with diet and exercise). Height and weight data is extremely important. BMI (body mass index equals weight in kg / square of height in meters) is one criterion to determine the anticipated results of a cosmetic surgery. You can find BMI calculators on the internet. If your BMI is greater than 30, the cosmetic result will not be optimal. If your BMI is greater than 35, your operative risk will rise. In our practice we recommend a BMI of less than 30. We recommend that you be at a healthy comfortable stable body weight at the time of surgery. The cosmetic effect improves with lower BMIs. If overweight, we recommend a regimen of diet and exercise to reach a safe and healthy body weight. If not achievable, one may consider a bariatric procedure such as a gastric sleeve to achieve dramatic weight loss. This procedure is performed by a bariatric surgeon on an outpatient basis. This procedure will result in marked reduction of visceral body fat and body weight overall.Liposuction is restricted to 4000 cc of supernatant fat here in Florida for patient safety. That correlates to ~ 6-8 pounds of fat. Without more photos, I cannot determine if it would be sufficient to achieve your desired result with BBL. It will not appreciably affect your internal visceral fat content.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for in-person evaluation and discussion.Best wishes...
Unfortunately, there is only one treatment for excess visceral fat and that is modification of your diet. I do not know what you mean by "eating clean," but whatever you are doing is not what you need to be doing. Most of what you read about diet is wrong. Things that are supposed to be healthy can cause an increase in visceral fat if prepared wrong. See Patient Resources on my website or the attached.
