Ok so I’ve had silicone injections 5 years ago I only did it one else (I know not very smart ) but I have had no complications since . now I have Two kids and I’m considering a bbl. CAN I?
Answer: BBL candidate Dear Cocopuffz504, if you have free silicone in your buttocks, then it should be removed prior to BBL surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: I had silicone injections five years ago. Can I get a BBL? I am having to do more and more of these debulking procedures before patients can have a BBL. The type of removal depends on the type of substance, the amount of surface area involved, and the patient's desires. The material is removed in the first stage. It is rare that over 50% of the material can be removed. Because the material is typically laden with bacteria means that you run the risk of injection and recurrence of granulomas. A period of 3 months or so is observed. Reconstructive surgery can be performed later to improve the appearance. To help allay fears and eliminate worries of patients who made the previous poor decision to have these substances injected, I recommend that they consult with a board certified PS who has experience in removing silicone.

Answer: I had silicone injections five years ago. Can I get a BBL? I personally avoid doing a BBL on patients with free silicone injections as the risk for complications is high. Some PS may be open to doing a BBL with a history of free silicone injections. You just need to call around to the PS in your area to try to find someone.

Answer: BBL after free silicone injections Free silicone injections can cause complications years down the road. Sometimes women develop problems with the silicone later in life especially during pregnancy. Should the BBL cause a problem with the three silicon patients could be in serious trouble. This is especially true if it gets contaminated. Your options are not having a BBL, a BBL over the free silicone or having the silicon removed or partially removed followed by a bbl. My recommendations would be to leave good enough alone and not have more surgery in that area. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
