You will need to ask the board certified plastic surgeon who will be performing your procedures. In my practice, no specific vitamins are recommended. If your lab work indicates that your hemoglobin levels are low, you may need to take iron. I recommend that my patients stop taking Vitamin E the week prior to surgery to prevent bleeding problems. Before and after surgery I recommend a diet high in protein to assist in healing.

You should avoid aspirin for 7 days before and 7 days after surgery. No NSAIDS (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 5 days before or after surgery. Take Arnica and Bromelain for a few days before surgery and continue for 5-7 days after-these will reduce bruising and swelling.Avoid: Ginger, gingko biloba, Echinacea, garlic, licorice, fish oil, St. John's Wort, Vit E, Omega-3: All which have been associated with bleedingBest wishes,Dr. T
