If your lab work indicates that your hemoglobin levels are low, you may need to take iron. I recommend that my patients stop taking Vitamin E the week prior to surgery to prevent bleeding problems. You should avoid aspirin for 7 days before and 7 days after surgery. No NSAIDS (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 5 days before or after surgery.
