There is a great deal of confusion in my surgery “groups”. Ladies w combined procedures (ex lipo w a TT or breast reduction) that FL law restricts their surgeon from removing more then 1 liter of fat w lipo., My understanding is that these same procedures can be done in a hospital and the lipo limit is then 4 litres? 64B8-9.009 office settings, and I assume these doctors consider there operating suites not offices. (Ambulatory?) Is there regulatory doc that clarifies surgical limits by location?

Answer: Limits of liposuction in hospital vs. office and ambulatory surgery centers You are right. Rules in hospital are different than in ambulatory surgery centers and office surgery centers. However, these procedures are, at least in Florida, most frequently performed outside of hospitals in surgery centers and, for that reason, they are more efficient and, probably, have overall lower cost. This is an issue that you should discuss with your surgeon once you make that most important decision, select your surgeon. Goof luck.

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear heathird08, if you get a liposuction alone, then you can get 4 liters of fat removed. If you combine liposuction with another procedure, then only one liter of fat can be removed. But if you get liposuction in hospital, then you can get more fat removed. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
