Eyebrow lift: would a temporal lift open my eyes? (Photos)

Question

Dear Doctors, I am 27 & had blepharoplasty a year ago and the results are amazing. However I still see some hooding on the outer corners of my eyes/eyebrows. I notice that if I pull my outer brow corner with my hands or wear a tight scarf or headband i look instantly better and more awake/ attractive. I am currently looking for temporal lift to open the eyes (and would like to combine it with fat grafting to the cheeks) . Would you recommend this procedure? Thanks for your answers!

Hi Sfara,You would be a good candidate for a temporal brow lift if you like where your eyebrows are when you pull up like you're doing in the pictures with your hand or headband.  Fat grafting would be a nice complement.See an experience facial plastic surgeon for an in-person evaluation.Best wishes, Dr. Jay

Your brow is pretty high now.  Before doing a surgery I would try some Botox to the outer brow which should give you an elevation of the temporal brow.  If you really like the way it looks, then you could consider a surgical temporal brow lift.

The current level of your eyebrows is more than acceptable, therefore brow lift is unnecessary. Raising your brows any higher will make you look unnatural

The decision of whether to perform a brow lift, blepharoplasty, non-surgical intervention, or nothing depends on a number of factors including your desired "look", the amount of skin in your upper lids (measured during an exam), and prior surgeries just to name a few. Photos alone can sometimes be deceiving. A temporal brow lift can be performed through a hidden incision behind the hairline with good results.  Sometimes volumization (fat or filler) along along with botox can add some temporal lift too. My recommendation would be to find a surgeon who is experienced in both eyelid and brow surgery (oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastics) so measurements can be obtained and the decision made based on how your brow naturally sits versus what your desired brow position is.
