Would a dose of aspirin close to surgery be a problem?

I usually advise all patients stop any blood thinners including aspirin products for about 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery. I ask this of my patients as these can cause excess bleeding and / or complications during or after the procedure. Please let your surgeon know as soon as possible. 

I would suggest alerting your board certified surgeon about what happened. They don't recommend taking no asprin or blood thinners before surgery because of the risks of complications.Please call them and alert them so they can advise you on what to do.

STOPPING
all sources of Aspirin or other Pain medicine or Cold Preparations 10 days
before surgery is typically recommended.  Aspirin, Motrin, Aleve,
Advil, Ibuprofen, and Pepto-Bismol all contain agents that will thin your blood

Thank you for your question. Please call your surgeon immediately and discuss this with him. Aspirin will inhibit clotting and may cause increased risks of bleeding. Safety in these large surgeries is critical and all precautions prior to any surgery is required to prevent complications.

You need to contact your surgeon right away. Aspirin can cause bleeding problems for surgery patients, I require my patients to be free of all blood thinners 2 weeks before and two weeks after surgery. Good luck!

brialt78.    You need to call your plastic surgeon because it will probably be necessary to postpone your surgery. Even one dose of Excedrin, which has medication that thins the blood, can affect your surgery, especially mommy makeover surgery. You run the risk of excessive bleeding and hematoma formation. Check in with your plastic surgeon and understand it is better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.
